Review : SanSan Matte Finish Liquid Foundation

Last year I fell in love with the San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation around November but because I keep switching up my foundies I eventually stopped using this product. Last month as I was going through the shelves at a local HBC outlet, I stumbled upon the product again and decided to get a new bottle since my old one had mysteriously vanished into thin air. (ugh!) I've been using this often and I think it's finally time to do a review on the product.

I got this at the HBC outlet for P132.00 only. I know it usually goes for as low as P80 but I didn't get this during any sort of sale, so I had to pay full price. It comes in this glass bottle container and has a "matte-like" finish to the glass. Its cap is made of plastic that may come off somewhat "cheap" to some people but what can you expect for a P132 item?

I got it in the shade 03. It comes in four shades, 03 being somewhat in the middle of the color range. I think this is somewhat closer to my skin tone but I think mixing it with a lil bit of 02 would make it even better.

The product comes with this spatula type applicator of sorts that you can use to "scoop" out the product. I would have preferred a pump but hey! Again, I only paid P132, so... Yeah...

This is what the shade 03 looks like when applied onto bare skin. Looks a tad bit dark, right? But it does blend nicely into the skin because of it's consistency. It's not too watery nor is it a cream like texture. I think it's just right to blend out even with your own fingers.

After blending the product thoroughly, it "fades" into the skin nicely and it's almost as if you never even applied the product at all. I've been using this in very hot and humid weather, as well as on extra rainy days the past few weeks. It's stayed put longer  than I expected.

PROS:
★ Affordable!
★ It didn't cause any breakouts.
★ It has great coverage (in my opinion), plus it's very buildable. It goes on really smoothly.
★ It has no funky smell.

CONS:
★ Limited shades - 01,02,03,04 only. Boooo!
★ It has a spatula, I want a pump but I guess I really can't complain.

OVERALL RATING :

I would definitely repurchase this in other shades so I can mix them up till I finally get a really close shade to my own natural skin tone. I recommend this to all you girlies that need an affordable matte liquid foundation. I hope you guys also do your reviews on this product. :)

  7. I have been through the "cheap foundie" road before and have been disappointed too. But San2x has been very good to me and I am loving it. I usually mix it with myra-e tinted moisturizer in Ivory kasi super light yon eh. :)

  9. This foundation works really great for my oily skin! I mix shades #1 (the white one) and #3 to get my exact color. I love that it smells like marshmallows too! :)
