Makeup Swap : Miss-April.Info

Ever heard of makeup swaps before?
Well I had my first ever makeup swap with Ate April of miss-april.info and my goodies arrived a couple of days ago. Before I tell you guys what I received, head on over to Ate April's blog to read more about her post regarding our makeup swap...

Now moving on, I received these three palettes from her.

First I got this NYX 10 color eyeshadow palette from their runway collection. This palette is in "caviar and champagne" and is another neutrals palette... It's missing one eyeshadow that appears to be a shimmery champagne color but it's totally okay. The palette is still pretty and very useable. I bet I'll be able to come p with tons of different wearable wedding looks with this particular palette.

Next is this NYX butt naked eyes palette. I have been lemming for this palette for ages! I was so stoked when Ate April told me that she'd be sending this over. One of the highlighters on the second layer broke prior to her shipping it to me but again, it's no big deal. I love the palette so much and have been using it since I got it!

Lastly I received this 32 lip color palette. Only a few colors were swatched. I really like that it is slim enough to fit inside my makeup train case. Now I don't need to bring every single lipstick I own to get that right shade of color for my clients! This indeed is a very useful palette to have around for makeup gigs!

I loved all the stuff I received.
Don't you think makeup swapping is cool? I surely do!

Review : Wet N Wild Coloricon Palette in Vanity

Last week I reviewed a wet n wild coloricon palette in greed and now I'm going to do a review on the vanity palette. I have been after this palette for so long! It's been doing a great job at eluding my clutches but I eventually caught up with it and snagged it from an online auction for only P225! To think that this usually retails for P299-P399 at some online shops. Lucky me!

I know I have so many neutral palettes already but when I saw this, I just knew I needed this badly. I've read so many great reviews regarding it and I wanted to try it out for myself. Plus you can never really go wrong with a great neutral palette!

What I Like :
Affordably priced!
Compact & travel friendly, due to the size of the palette it would be easy to take around with you for touch ups!
Great pigmentation and lasting power.
Eyeshadows aren't powdery or chalky.
Shimmer eyeshadows don't have that "gritty" feeling when being applied onto the lids.
No funky smell unlike some eyeshadow palettes that smell "flowery"...
Non irritating.

What I Don't Like :
Not always locally available.
Cheap plastic-like packaging.
Pretty useless free applicators.
No mirror.

Overall :
Overall I'd give this a 4/5 stars. Though it lacks a mirror and comes with not so friendly applicators, this neutral palette is still definitely "the bomb"! I've been using this on myself and on clients on more than one occasion and results are always beautiful! On myself, the eyeshadows really look pretty and I always get a lot of compliments on my eye makeup. This is definitely worth the hassles I went through to purchase it.

Swatch time!
Left : With flash. Right : Without flash.

Questions for my readers:
Did you find this review helpful?
Have you tried any of the wet n wild coloricon palettes?
Would you purchase this palette for yourself?

Halloween Makeup Collaboration : Creepy Ventriloquist's Doll

Hello everybody! It's time for another Halloween inspired makeup look....
This is the second installment of my halloween makeup collaboration with the following bloggers:

Katleya of EYAHNISM
Iya of IYABOTO
and
Mhisha of THETOUCHOFYELLOW

The theme for this installment was scary doll. It took me quite some time to decide what kind of doll I wanted to be when I finally settled for a ventriloquist's doll. I've always been fascinated with ventriloquists and their dolls and the art of throwing one's voice to make it appear that an inanimate object is talking... Plus I already did this type of makeup on a friend the other week, so I decided to recreate the look on my own face...

BTS : Clique's Halloween Special

I know I haven't been blogging much. It's because I've had several things to attend do like making application letters (because I'm applying as a volunteer nurse again) and also makeup gigs like the one I'm about to show you now.

Last Saturday (10-19-12) I teamed up with Clique Production, a Zamboanga based team of photographers. It was actually Patty Tan, a fellow Zamboanga blogger, who contacted me if I wanted to collaborate with her and the rest of the Clique team. When I found out that the theme would be "Halloween" I immediately said yes. In the Philippines, we don't really normally celebrate Halloween as much as they do in the US but this is a start!

Enjoy the photos...
All photos grabbed from HERE.

I started working on Meryll first (@merylljane on Instagram!) because I know for a fact her skull head transformation would take longer to do and set and finish off. This is my first time doing a skull head look on another person. I know I still have to perfect my technique next time...

After Meryll, I worked on Patty next. OMG! Half of the time I did her makeup in the DARK! Why? Because lousy Z******O decided to pull the plug on my electricity and plunged into the darkness of a blackout session for an hour or so... But the show must go on! So while Jolas (Meryll's boyf) started taking photos and coaching Meryll on posing, I started turning dearest Patty into a ventriloquist's creepy doll.

I also did hair for both of the girls. *hihi*
Will post official photos once they get released.
Bye for now, till my next post! <3
