Review : Lideal Tofu BB Cream in #20

Like most asians (well, more like most girls), I've ventured into the world of BB creams since I started playing around with makeup. I've tried a ton from both asian & "american" brands. So far, my favorite's the EnCara BB Cream but I'm always on the look out for something to top that.
Like my other Thailand based products, I heard about this from ShebbyChic and have been seeing it on so many blogs and feedbacks on The Mestiza Hub Facebook page that it sparked an interest.

What I Like:
Affordable & available online thru a local Facebook shop.
Nice milk-like scent.
Very easy to blend.
Highly moisturizing & feels lightweight.
No greasy feeling after you put it on.
Didn't break me out.
Has a brightening effect.
Contains UV protection.
Good for sensitive skin.

What I Don't Like:
Hard to blend when you use face brushes.
Settles into my lines & large pores.
Doesn't last long on my oily skin when I don't use a primer.
Doesn't conceal any of my major flaws like acne scars & my under eye circles.
Poor shade selection. Women of color will have a hard time finding a shade to match.
Shade #20 (the darkest shade available) doesn't really match my NC35 skin tone.
Creates an ugly white cast on flash photography.

Overall:
 Where to begin? *hmmm*
I don't entirely dislike the product but I don't entirely love it either. I'm on the fence about it because even if it has a lot of skin benefits and is easy to use and is lightweight, it doesn't really do much for me. I need a BB Cream that can at least cover some of my redness and make me look decent but this is to sheer. Maybe for someone with already flawless skin, this could be their dream product but for me? Naaaah. Plus the color is off by a couple of shades that I end up using a second product to even everything out. To be honest, I end up using this as a tinted primer of some sort for a light second layer of foundation to go over with. This seems to even everything out. I guess the product didn't really work out for me but I'll still continue on using it as a tinted "primer" till I run out. I'd recommend this to friends who are fairer and have less "skin problems" to deal with.

Review : Mistine Magic Secret Lip Tint in Cherry

I first heard about this product from Shebbychic & TheProjectAwesome. I've been trying hard to not purchase this because I'm not a huge fan of lip tints but so many people have been giving positive feedback that I finally hopped on the bandwagon and placed in an order for the Mistine Magic Secret Lip Tint in Cherry.

 photo IMG_9651_zpse38750b0.jpg

Product Details:
What : Mistine Magic Secret - dual ended lip balm & tint
Strawberry scented
Made in Thailand
Where : The Mestiza Hub
Price : P250

 photo IMG_9653_zpsb9bf6a38.jpg photo IMG_9656_zps5e9dfa8e.jpg photo IMG_9658_zpsb5f8dfef.jpg

What I like (balm end):
It's strawberry scented.
It's moisturizing.
It applies beautifully without tugging on my lips.
It adds a nice sheen when applied as a top coat on the lip tint.

What I don't like (balm end):
If worn alone, it makes your lips look glittery.
You'll have to reapply if you want the moisturized feeling to last all day.
Multiple layers on the balm will alter the true color of the lip tint.

What I like (tint end):
Multi-purpose. I've tried it on both my lips & cheeks!
Gives that healthy "bitten" pinky-red look to your lips.
Light weight formula.
Easy to apply thanks to the doe-foot applicator.
Long lasting.
Buildable intensity (color wise).

What I don't like (tint end):
Dries fast, so you have to work fast during application.
Can be a bit drying when used without the balm.
Tricky to blend out or remove if you make a mistake. *Tip: Have a cotton bud dipped in makeup remover ready

Overall:
At P250, this is a pretty affordable 2-in-1 product. When both ends are used, the effect is a moisturizing long lasting lip tint that brightens up my face. It doesn't settle on my lip lines or emphasize any dry patches and there isn't any smudging once the tint has set. I'm very impressed with this product & would recommend this to my friends.
*Tip: If you don't like the "fine glittery" balm end, you can substitute it with your favorite clear lip balm like I do sometimes.

A : Two coats
B : Rubbed after 3 minutes

Review : InkHeart Shop False Eyelashes #218

One of my earliest frustrations in life would be my darn eyelashes. They're visible but I'd love some more length & volume to them. Sure, a good mascara helps tons but on those special occasions when I wanna look really doe-eyed or need flirty long lashes to compliment my eye makeup, I head on over to my reliable stash of false eyelashes. False eyelashes or falsies as some people call them, have been a huge part of my makeup life. I personally wear falsies and always encourage my clients to try them out too! Since I started wearing falsies, I'd always be on the lookout for long, flirty but still natural looking falsies available locally. Lucky for me, I stumbled upon a shop called InkHeart Shop that sold just the kind I'm looking for without drilling a hole in my wallet!
 photo IMG_9668_zps1d72bd8f.jpg
What: #218 false eyelashes
Where: InkHeart Shop
Price: P150/box for 10 pairs (P15/pair)
 photo IMG_9670_zps30ded68b.jpg photo IMG_9669_zps6fb3055f.jpg photo 1_zps64ff9cf9.jpg
What I like:
Affordably priced at P150/box for 10 pairs.
Lightweight.
Natural looking.
Adds length.
Reusable.
Flirty cat-eye effect can be achieved with these lashes.
What I don't like:
Flimsy lash band that can flip around sometimes.
Delicate lashes can get bent if not handled with care.
Doesn't add a lot of volume to thin lashes.

Review : Zoeva Nude Palette

This is a rather late post but "life happened" so I only had the opportunity today. *giggles*
I got this Zoeva Nude Palette from my lil sister who gave it to me for Christmas.
To be honest, I've never heard of the brand Zoeva but my sister insists that it's "all the rage" among her friends in Singapore. I decided to do a little bit of research on the brand and it turns out that Zoeva was founded in 2008 by Zoe Boikou in Germany. You can read more about Zoeve here.

A girl can never have enough nude eyeshadows or nude palettes and I'm no different. I was ecstatic over receiving another nude palette that's perfect for creating everyday looks, smokey looks & even classic bridal looks. This palette contains 28 classic neutral eyeshadows encased in a a beautiful demi-matte black case. The downside is the palette doesn't come built in with a mirror.
It has a diverse range of finishes that I feel is an awesome bonus for a palette like this. As for the pigmentation and longevity of these eyeshadows, I have to be honest... Some are great and some could use a bit of improvement. It varies from color to color but overall I'm happy with most of the eyeshadows. I remedy problematic ones by using a good eyeshadow primer or base. I've noticed that the NYX eyeshadow base (skin tone) works best with this palette.
I've used this palette for several brides already as well as clients who availed of my graduation package because a lovely neutral eye is always perfect for formal events like a graduation. I've even used this handy palette on myself when I create everyday looks.
For a complete set of swatches, check out this lady's awesome post.
Overall, I'd give this palette a 4/5. If you can get your hands on this palette, GO FOR IT! It's worth the money. *wink*
