Busy As A Bee

 photo cmznurse_zps205e7ed9.jpg
I've been gone the past few days & might actually be minimizing my blogging as I slowly but surely ease my way back into the life of a nurse. This time I got a slot in a special area - the operating room. It is so much different from the ward and the transition could get rough so I'm giving all my lovely readers & supporters a heads up that I might be blogging less but don't you all worry, I'm still here and I'll be updating whenever I can. I'm really excited for this new path I'm taking. Wish me luck?

5 Current Favorite "P!NK" Songs

Not everyone appreciates P!NK but I've always enjoyed her songs. Even the double meaning and super feminist ones. I enjoy how upbeat some are, and how serious the rest are. Seriously, she has a song for most of the emotions I deal with. I decided to share some lyric videos of her songs that I'm currently enjoying. Some songs hit home for me, while the rest are for people I know can totally relate to them!

Fun fact : P!NK's real name is Alecia Beth Moore.

Valentine's Date Look : A Makeup Collaboration

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!
I'll be spending today dating the entire orientation group at CMZ since we still have our nurse trainees orientation going on! *lol* Spending the whole day at the conference room listening to lectures, having ice breakers, taking down notes and giving return demos... What fun! *lol*
Anyway, though I won't be going out today on a date or something, I still collaborated with 5 other lovely girls to come up with a simple date look that can be worn on other occasions or even for everyday! Check out our cutie-patootie poster below...

I did a very simple pink smokey eye that's sweet enough to be worn during the day and sultry enough to wear out at night. Kept everything sweet and girly with a soft pink blush & soft pink lipstick! Definitely not too overpowering.
Do you guys want a makeup tutorial on how to achieve this look?

Updates & Things I'm Looking Forward To

Hello my awesome & lovely readers!
If you've been following me on my Facebook page, you'll know that I've been really busy with tons of stuff the past week that's why I haven't been able to really post a lot of "high quality" posts. Right now I just wanna fill you guys in on what I'm up to. This is centered more on my "personal" life.

 photo 579794_408878939208730_774560902_n_zps1284b26d.jpg
I found this hella funny Facebook cover on KawaiiCovers.Com and I thought it was sort of appropriate. I had a fun time sharing this with people I knew would get the joke.
(To those who still don't know, I'm actually a registered nurse.)

One of the activities that kept me busy last week was my ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support training at Ciudad Medical Zamboanga. After taking my BLS - Basic Life Support training, I decided that it was best to follow it up with an ACLS training while I still had the drive to go through with it. It was a rigorous three days but totally worth it. I am now confident that I will be able to help & do my role when an emergency or code happens. Plus the training is in conjunction with the American Heart Association, how cool is that?!

Another awesome thing I'm so excited about are these pair of sneaker wedges. I finally caved in and ordered a pair from Luxury Mall. I've been wanting to get this pair since October of last year but then I always had other things to pay for. But I slowly saved up for it. I can't wait for it to arrive by the 26th!
 photo crocs1_zpse31fe9ec.jpg
The last thing I'm looking forward to are these pair of Crocs. Well, I'm actually still on the hunt for a pair of these babies because I plan to use them during my duty in the operating room. Yes, you guys read it right. I'm going back to being a nurse again and this time my wish was granted & I'm assigned to the operating room. *big smiles*
So that's all for now. How about you guys? What have YOU been up to?

EDIT 02-17-13
Last February 12, 2013, Luxury Mall texted me regarding my order being unavailable. Apparently, DAKOTA has been sold out, and the last pair of size 10's are defective. In the end I asked for a refund. As of today, February 17, 2013, Luxury Mall still has not sent me my refund of P2170.00
I will update you all once this issue has been settled.

Haulage : Sample Room III

This is my first haul for the month of February and these are all samples I got from Sample Room Ph. Basically, Sample Room is a sampling site where you can "order" samples of items before you commit to buying the product. The coolest thing about Sample Room is the fact that all you pay for is the shipping fee. You also get to share your reviews about the products you get and earn points to claim more samples. Read more about Sample Room here
Anyway, this is my third batch of products from the site (I failed to blog about my first two hauls). I got three products and paid only P130 for shipping to Zamboanga... Check out photos of my lil haul below!

Want : Urban Decay Theodora & Glinda Palettes

I know, I know... You all must be thinking , Oh come on Jannie, palettes again?!
Well, why not? These Urban Decay palettes inspired by the movie The Wizard of Oz are limited edition candies that I just NEED (want) to get my hands on. They have exquisite packaging and based on the hundreds of  reviews I've read on them, the shadows have a great texture and formulation. Plus those high gloss lip colors are a nice touch as well as the 24/7 glide on eye pencils!
 photo UD_zpse67f9e12.jpg
Taken from the Urban Decay site :

Two insanely gorgeous limited-edition palettes inspired by the witches in Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful. (Because we all have a good side and a bad side.)

The new Disney film Oz The Great and Powerful tells the backstory of the wizard and the witches from L. Frank Baum’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Inspired by the movie’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), we created two insanely gorgeous, limited-edition palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades you'll want to own. We spent HOURS obsessively staring at images from the film (and not just the ones featuring its hot male lead, James Franco) to carefully craft the perfect mix of shades for these palettes.

Recreate Michelle Williams' ethereal, spellbinding look from the film with The Glinda Palette or copy Mila Kunis' captivating, edgy onscreen look with The Theodora Palette. Each one has six pans and EIGHT ALL NEW and exclusive Eyeshadows. Confused? These sets include two “duo-shades” that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan. Every shade features Urban Decay's Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability. Plus, you also get a Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color and a travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil.

Each palette comes in a sleek tin adorned with gorgeous Oz The Great and Powerful-inspired artwork, with "Urban Decay" and the name of the film in foil lettering. The Glinda Palette features a dreamy, celestial design awash in a sheer backdrop of pink, gold and peach, while The Theodora Palette features a moody, colorful skyscape flanked by Rorschach-like patterns. And both versions incorporate our Build Your Own Palette format for total versatility. When you finish the original shades (or whenever you get the urge to experiment), just pop them out and pop your favorite UD shadows into the cool collectible tin.

Theodora Palette (Limited Edition) = $49.00
Broken - pale cream satin
Beware - warm brown matte
Bewitch - dark charcoal brown satin
West - deep metallic brown shimmer
Spell - black satin with green & gold shimmer, gold metallic with tonal glitter
Jealous - pale green pearl, dark green pearl
Theodora Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color - bright red cream
Zero 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil - black *travel sized*

Glinda Palette (Limited Edition) = $49.00
Tornado - vibrant deep purple shimmer
Aura - iridescent white with blue-shift, iridescent white with red shift
Magic - pinkish purple with a golden shimmer
Illusion - pale peach satin
Oz - gold with gold glitter, silver with silver glitter
South - warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter
Glinda Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color - light sheer nude
Rockstar 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil - deep eggplant *travel sized*

I have my heart set on the Theodora palette first, then the Glinda one second.
How about you? Which palette do you see yourself getting?

TH Boxes : Cutie Patootie Owl Satchel

Remember the when I posted a TH Boxes giveaway last month? Well, aside from sponsoring that awesome giveaway, they also sent a little something for me as well. Aren't they the sweetest?! So anyway, a couple of days ago I got a postal office note telling me to pick up a package. I went to pick it up with the boyfie and as soon as I got my butt home I snapped photos and proceeded to tear up the package to get to the goodie inside... And guess what?
 photo thb1_zps882f5db1.jpg
They sent me a freakin' adorable OWL satchel! I am absolutely obsessed with owls (and penguins!) I've never seen an owl design satchel so I'm really pleased that they opted to send me something a bit more quirky than the cambridge-inspired satchels that I frequently see being sold online.
The strap can be detached so I can opt to carry this like an "envelope" clutch. It also has a snap-button opening which I like. The satchel is well made and you can see in the photos that the cutting is clean as well as the way they sewed it up. I really hope it holds up with my kind of usage of a bag. *lol*
 photo thb2_zps603a91e5.jpg
Again, thank you so much TH Boxes for this very sweet gift!
For reference purposes, I'm a UK20. So yes, the satchel is a bit "fun sized", my wallet, phone, keys, pressed powder & a tube of lipstick fits perfectly inside!

PS : Don't mind my awkward photo, pose & slippers! *lol*

Lucas Papaw : Red Tube Miracles!

Today's the first of February and what better way to start off the month with a review on a product that's packaged in the color of love, red! This lil "miracle" in a red tube is no other that the Lucas Papaw Ointment... Now, I know what you guys are thinking... Oh gosh Jannie, you fell for the hype again?! Well, I did and I'm glad I did because I am absolutely in love with this multi purpose product... Read on to know why I think every girl (and even guys) should have this lil Australian wonder...

 photo lp1_zpsc8576690.jpg photo lp2_zpsbf545759.jpg

What : Lucas Papaw Ointment
Where : Digital Traincase
Price : P450 (FREE shipping when ordered via Multiply!)

Prior to purchasing my own tube of Lucas Papaw Ointment, I did a bit of researching and found out that this Aussie favorite was developed by Dr. Thomas Pennington Lucas way back in 1906 and accordingly his formula remains unchanged to this day. Can you guys imagine how long people have been using & loving this ointment?

 photo lp3_zps9004a203.jpg photo lp5_zps6ecbdbbf.jpg photo lp4_zpsaa1a30c1.jpg

Further research (& well, it's even stated on the back of the tube) says that this ointment is definitely multi purpose product. I've read that this can be used on boils, bruises, burns, carbuncles, chafing, dry & cracked skin on hands & feet, heat rash, insect stings, mosquito bites, pimples, scalds, scars, sun burn, minor burns, splinters, nappy rash, & even eczema! Definitely a miracle in a tube!

 photo lp6_zps2f325c83.jpg

I've been using the ointment as a night treat for my dry lips and in the span of a couple of weeks I now have softer, flake free puckers! (perfect for all the kisses I'll be giving my loved ones on VDay!)
Aside from using this as a lip "balm-treatment", I also apply this over insect bites, and on my semi-cracked heels for relief. And once when I got a small "burn" from my curling iron, Lucas Papaw Ointmen came to my rescue and brought relief from the throbbing pain...

Overall I really like the fact that this is a multi purpose product and that it's pretty affordable. It isn't greasy or slimy and has a tolerable scent to it. The only downside I see to the "famous" Papaw ointment is that it isn't locally available in Zamboanga so when I run out I have to order it online again...

So, have I convinced you yet to get your own tube? Or do you already have it? What are your thoughts on the Lucas Papaw Ointment, do tell me!
