Polish Nailbar Zamboanga - First (2) Impressions!

Last month, a new nail salon opened up called POLISH Nailbar. I was scheduled to leave for my Singapore trip at the time of their opening so I was only recently able to avail of some of their services...

Polish Nailbar is located on the lower level of Azenith Royale Hotel, Gov. Camins, Zamboanga City. Last year a flurry of nail salons had opened up in different areas of Zamboanga but I could never find a place that I genuinely liked and genuinely would recommend to other people... Until I went to Polish Nailbar.

I'm the kind of person who gets very concerned about cleanliness and sterility of items used on me during pedicures and manicures that's why I usually stick to my trusted "home service manicurista" that's been doing my nails for years... The downside to that is she offers no nail art services, branded polish or foot spas... So I was forced to venture out to find a place that would pass my standards... Needless to say, Polish Nailbar happens to be one of those places...

A wide assortment of nail polishes & nail products to choose from!

The place has a very clean vibe to it with walls painted white and purple. Purple has always been associated to royalty and that's exactly what you'll feel when you avail of their services. You'll feel 101% like a V.I.P.! I also like their big and comfortable chairs and pillows. Another perk is the complimentary drink. I always go with iced tea!

My first visit to the place was for a combination of foot spa, basic pedicure, gel nails removal & basic manicure... I spent a little over P500 but it was worth it. I opted for the peppermint scrub for my foot spa. I really like the fact that the nail technicians take a lot of time to really make sure you're left with feet as soft as a baby's bum!

I chose OPI's Chicago Champagne Toast for my nail color during my first visit. It was no easy task because they had A TON of different brands, colors & finishes to choose from that my head was spinning from it all. In the end I opted for a frosty pink-brown shade perfect for everyday wear. The nice thing about Polish Nailbar is that they use good quality base coat and top coats aside from the branded polish!

For my second visit, which was earlier today, I availed of their footspa & basic pedicure which amounted to only P270! Not bad for service that is definitely high quality.
My nail technician for today wast Ate Lheny (highly recommended if you have rough/cracked heels & ingrown nails or dry skin) and she did a terrific job with my feet. I tried out their strawberry scrub this time and I liked it for the scent but I would still choose the peppermint one over it because the peppermint one had a cooling effect.

This time I opted for a bright orange-red polish from Nature Republic. I wanted a color that would catch your attention from a mile away! *laughs!* What do you think of my color choice? Leave your comments and suggestions on what color I should paint my nails next on the comment section below!
I hope all my Zamboanga based friends take time to check out this awesome place. I swear to God I'm not paid in any way to recommend Polish Nailbar to you guys. It's just that I honestly really like the place, their staff & their service! Definitely a big contender among the nail salons in Zamboanga!

Gifted : China Glaze Nail Lacquers

I have a confession to make...
I used to be a nail biter! Yes, it used to be such a disgusting nail habit that I'm so glad I got over (ermmm) thanks to nail polish. I used to really use nail polish as a reminder to not bite my nails BUT once I started college classes, hospital duties and even more when I became a registered nurse, I couldn't use nail polish anymore because of the "rules". *sad panda face*

Needless to say, nail polish has never been one of the beauty products I invest in. Whenever I do purchase nail polish, it usually does not cost more than P100 because I get this "panghihinayang" feeling every time a polish dries up because I don't use it frequently.

My lil sister knows that even if I want to, I would never splurge on something like nail polish so she went ahead and gifted me my first few bottles of China Glaze nail lacquers! I've heard so many good things about China Glaze and have been wanting to try them out but my wallet never agreed to the urge. I was super delighted when she gave me these polishes as part of my late birthday gift when she came home from Singapore yesterday.

For Audrey is definitely my ultimate favorite out of the three that my lil sister gave me. It's a very fun and bright spring-summer shade and I feel that this shade is totally going to be used and loved by me!

Liquid Crystal is a glitter fanatics' nail lacquer of choice. I'm also very fond of glittery and sparkly nail polishes. Thinking about doing galaxy nails with this polish.

Every girl should have at least one nude polish and I feel that Sunset Sail will be my new favorite nude.

I'll be doing a swatch & review post on each shade soon...
Before I end this post, I'd like to share the song I LOVE IT By Icona Pop. I'm totally obsessed with it!
PS : Notice the improvement in the quality of my photos? *wink* I got my powershot back!

Charm Limit Caviar Nails

Out of the many nail art fads that hit the country, nothing caught my eye more than the "caviar" pearls trend but upon seeing how much a "kit" cost online from Ciate, I decided not to go down that road because I wasn't willing to shell out that much for nail art especially since I won't be able to wear it often when I'm at hospital duty....
So you can only imagine how excited I got when Kim of I Am Polished shop contacted me about her sending me my own "ala Ciate" caviar kit. I Am Polished is a newly opened shop that sells a cheaper version of the caviar kit under the brand called Charm Limit.

What : Caviar Nails Kit
Where : I Am Polished
Price : P165/kit

Application was a breeze. First I applied the baby pink base, then after the first coat dried I quickly (and carefully!) poured the caviar beads and pushed them down into place with my finger and waited for it to set. And finally I placed a clear top coat to seal everything in!

I know the photo above doesn't really do the set any justice because I suck at doing my own nails but you all get the picture, don't you? *smiles*

I definitely recommend this kit to those who want to explore the caviar trend without breaking the bank. It's a fun and creative way to explore the world of nail art & I'm definitely doing my nails this way again when I next get the chance to.

PS : All my photos will be taken using my iPhone4 for the mean time because my beloved GEE is under repair ever since his LCD went *poof*

Haulage : Polish, Please?

I'm not really a big fan of nail polished but recently I've been into painting my nails so I decided to get a couple of polishes just to get the feel of being a girly-girl with painted nails. *lol* Plus I could always swap these polishes or give them to friends.

Above is a photo of my nails the other day. I used two coats of KleanColor 109 Green Grass topped off with KleanColor 130 Starry Meteor. I've been a bit obsessed with GREEN lately, maybe because it's the color of the year... Well actually EMERALD is, but you get the point! *lol*

I'm thinking of doing nail art tutorials soon. What do you guys think? Yes or No? Comment down below, okay?
