Haulage : Personal Items

After class earlier, I headed over to the local grocery to pick up some personal items that I had been running low on. This might be a boring post to some, but honestly, I like seeing haul posts on "personal" items because it actually gives me ideas on what stuff to try out next, especially when it comes to hair care & skin care products...

I got this medium sized bottle of Biogenic alcohol for P27.75 to refill my spray bottle which I use in disinfecting my makeup (especially palettes). I like the Biogenic brand because of its clean smell that isn't rough on my poor nose.

Next I got a new shaver from Schick in Exacta2 for P30.50 My old shaver's aloe vera pad is super worn out so when I shave my legs (because waxing can get a bit time consuming sometimes) it won't hurt...

Colgate Optic White is next. This little tube cost P52.00 Both Cj & I got this because of the hype & advertisements. Call me gullible, but I'm a sucker for whitening products!

Also got this AstrinOsol Ice Pure Tri Defence mouth wash to replace my Listerine mouth wash (that I didn't really like at all) because I've been running low. This 60ml bottle cost P49.50

One of my obsessions just happens to be my hair! Now that I got it rebonded again, I have to take extra care of it so I've put my LUSH products on hold and decided to go back to the Dove Damage Therapy shampoo designed to leave your hair "straight & silky". The shampoo cost P192.50. I got the biggest bottle which will last my medium length, thin hair about two months (srsly!)

Since I got the shampoo, I also got the conditioner. This cost me P104.50... I really like this conditioner because it truly does keep my hair soft without weighing it down or getting it greasy.

Another thing I'm going back to it the Ponds Clear Balance Oil Control Skin Mattifying Facial Foam which costs P137.75 for 100g of product. I'm running low on my Kiehl's facial foam so I've decided to reserve it for night use only and use this Ponds on for my daily daytime routine.

Last thing I purchased is this Celeteque Dermoscience Hydration Facial Moisturizer which costs P129.25 for the 50ml tube. I know I've mentioned before that my Kiehl's Oil Free Facial Moisturizer is my ultimate favorite BUT this Celeteque one is a cheaper alternative and I plan to use this for my daytime routine. This is also the moisturizer I prefer to use on my clients.

So there's my small haul of personal items...
Do you use any of the products above? What personal items do you usually purchase at the grocery/drugstore?

Going Black...

Do any of you remember these photo? *lol!*

Well it's been two month since I last had my hair treated at RStyle salon. I even blogged about it here.
I've been itching for a change and I just knew that this would be the perfect time to "go black"... My natural hair color is a dark chocolate brown, and through the years I've bombarded it with lighter hair dyes because I secretly (well it's not a secret anymore) want blonde-ish hair. Now that I'm a bit older, my fascination with darker hair colors has also started. I initially wanted dark red hair, but that would be difficult to explain to my nurse superiors once I'm back in the hospitals so I decided to go black instead.

 My hair last week...

My hair earlier this morning...

I got to RStyle salon arounf 9:30am and asked for Izah again since I'm comfortable with her expert hands. We talked about me going black and she did advise me against it because black would be a bit difficult to layer a lighter color on if I decided to go light haired again alter on. Instead she advised me to go for a black-brown shade from Cynos called dark brown. She said it would still appear black unless under direct sunlight where it would register as a deep chocolate brown. So I said "let's go for it"... 3 hours later I had a lovely shade of brown black hair! *photos taken with my iphone4*

What do you guys think of my new black hair?
Does it look good on me? So far I've had several compliments that it suites me... I'm planning to go red by next year. *lol!*

So, what's your current hair color?

RStyle Salon ~ A New Experience

Before I left for my Singapore trip last month, I had a quick trim & a protein treatment at a local salon. Due to the lack of time, I wasn't able to have a new color set into my hair. Needless to say, my hair looked terrible and I had to bear with it. It has been a long time since I last had my hair colored so I was really itching for a change. While in Singapore I saw an ad posted by my "twin" & close friend Shanne regarding a new salon back home. I decided to give it a shot...

So yesterday, at around 11 in the morning, I stopped by R Style Salon located along Pilar Street, Corner Villalobos, Zambaonga City. The salon is owned and managed by Shanne's close friend Roland & his family (Mallarez-Khalaf). The salon is a cozy little nook in the corner and is located along a very convenient spot in town with the bustling of several other shops nearby. After you get yourself pampered, you can simply take a 5 minute walk towards several shopping malls in the vicinity! Now that's what I call convenient...

Blow drying my hair after the initial wash.
Applying the dye...
Hair treatment. (I honestly forgot what it was called but it really left my hair soft & shiny!)

As you can see in the photo above, my hair was a disaster prior to my "hair pampering" session at RStyle salon... When I stepped into the salon with Shanne, we were greeted by the friendly staff & Roland. I then told them that I wanted to get a haircut & coloring for my hair and asked what shades/colors were available. I was handed a rather large color display and we went through the different color selections till I found a color I liked... I was initially planning to do an ombre-style but was too afraid to subject my already unhealthy hair to bleaching to I ended up with a shade under the "natural" category called light blonde. Ironically, it really didn't look blonde on the color board nor did it look blonde in real life but it was the color I wanted to go for. It's a very light brown-ish red that really brings out the "fairness" (or what's left of it) of my skin. Later on, I got a lot of compliments saying my hair made me look a lot more "meztiza"! *blushes*

After the initial wash & half blow dry, the coloring dye was applied onto my hair in sections. I'll admit I panicked a little once the dye (cream form) started setting in because my scalp started to tingle. It was a sensation I wasn't accustomed to so I asked it it were normal and apparently it was. It can be a little uncomfortable to some but the the staff beautician, Izah Mae, gently massaged my scalp to ease away the tingling sensation & my nervousness...

After a couple of minutes, the dye was rinsed out of my hair and the treatment was applied. Honestly I don't recall the name of the treatment but it made my hair really smooth & silk plus it smelled divine! At the end of the treatment, I was given a good blow dry and a lil bit of styling went into my hair then I was all set.

I liked my whole RStyle experience and paid P2600 for everything, including a huge tub of Cynos hair mask which I consider a very nice investment on my new journey to healthier hair. I plan to go back to RStyle salon very soon to try out some other services they offer there.

Say hello to my new hair! Finally. I had enough balls to push through with it and it all happened last Wednesday. I’ve been planning a change in hair color for forever but I was (a.) too busy, (b.) too lazy & (c.) too scared to actually go through with it. I happen to have natural dark brown hair that sometimes looks like it has light brown highlights due to intense sun exposure when I was younger. Over the years my dark brown hair went through loads of de-virginizing stuff. Prior to getting my new hair color, I used to have “milk tea brown” hair. Now I have an awesome “revlon colorsilk luminista 150 red” shade.

I've already posted something related to my hair transformation on my other blog, so I won't really go into details anymore. I'll just leave you guys with two more shots of my new hair.

I'll update you guys on my next hair experiment! <3
